Madis Coffee’s Kenya Peaberry – Light Roast Rare by nature. Every coffee cherry typically produces two flat-sided beans...but occasionally, one bean develops alone, absorbing all the nutrients meant for two. That's a peaberry. And they make up just about 5% of any harvest. This lot brings together peaberry selections from smallholder farmers across Murang'a County, grown at 1,600–1,800 masl in the fertile highlands of central Kenya. Because peaberries can't be cultivated in isolation, they're a natural anomaly, sorted by hand from the rest of the harvest, every bag represents the work of many farmers and a lot of careful selection. Cup Profile: Brown sugar, green apple, orange, pear. Soft fruity acidity and a smooth, approachable finish. Experience our Kenya Peaberry: Washed process. Single region. A cup that's as uncommon as the bean behind it. Note for Subscribers: Our single origin offerings rotate throughout the year to reflect the freshest harvests available. If you’re subscribed to this coffee and we change the country of origin or farm due to seasonal growing conditions, your subscription will automatically update to the current selection. This may or may not come with a price change—if there is a change, it will never be more than $2. In the rare case that a new offering exceeds this amount, we will notify you before continuing. This process ensures you’re always receiving coffee at its peak quality—fresh, vibrant, and in line with our sourcing standards.
The catalog often lists the same model at several merchants — worth a price check before you buy.
