Grown on an Organic micro lot in Costa Rica, this coffee derives its name from the reddish purple shade of the ripe coffee cherries, paired with the fact that it is grown in a high elevation rainforest (or cloud forest) that is continually in a 'haze.' Maintained by the same family for generations, this farm prides itself for being in harmony with the environment around it and are highly committed to organic farming, conservation, and their local community. Done to a full city (light) roast, this brew is medium in body with pleasant, mild acidity. Expect notes of dark chocolate, hazelnut, and plum.
The catalog often lists the same model at several merchants — worth a price check before you buy.
