First Stage: Melt-blown Polypropylene Sediment Filter The sediment filter is often the first filter installed in the Reverse Osmosis circuit. Sediment filters are produced from fine melted polypropylene, which is then blown and spun into a sort of cylindrical form. The primary operation of a sediment filter is to remove large, unwanted fine particles from drinking water, such as sand, dirt, silt, and rust particles.
