Rocket Appartamento TCA Espresso Machine The Rocket Appartamento TCA is a compact E61 heat-exchange espresso machine that adds Temperature Control Adjustment to the Appartamento platform. It keeps the approachable reservoir-fed vibration-pump layout and simultaneous brew-and-steam capability while giving home baristas more control over the machine’s heat behavior. A 1.8-liter insulated HX boiler supplies brewing, steaming and hot water, while the 1.9-liter reservoir avoids permanent plumbing. The rounded chassis, vertical Rocket logo and interchangeable color details preserve the recognizable Appartamento design in a more contemporary form. What Does TCA Mean? TCA stands for Temperature Control Adjustment. It changes the operating conditions of the heat-exchange system so you can better match the machine to different coffees and routines. It is not the same as a brew-boiler PID displaying exact water temperature at the puck. On any HX machine, group heat, idle time and flushing continue to influence extraction temperature. Weigh the coffee dose, distribute evenly, tamp level and measure liquid yield. Change grind first when flow is wrong. Once the recipe is close, use the TCA setting and a consistent flushing routine to refine flavor. For milk drinks, purge condensation from the steam wand, introduce air near the surface, then position the tip to roll the milk until glossy. Wipe and purge the wand immediately. The HX system can steam while the espresso is extracting, which shortens the workflow for back-to-back drinks.
