This Under the Sink Direct Connect Two-Stage Water System is placed discreetly under the sink. It connects to the cold water line with a tee water connector (1/2" in/out NPT ports and 1/4" OD Quick Connect side output with valve) which dispenses water through a chromatic long reach faucet. Quick-connect fittings make for fast, easy installation so all you need is a 1/2-inch hole for the faucet stud (all series), but a cover plate is included in the package to accommodate larger pre-drilled holes. Rest assured that you'll find all the right parts as RA-US-2 accepts all standard 10-inch replacement filter elements. Melt-blown Polypropylene Sediment Filter The sediment filter is often the first filter installed in the Reverse Osmosis circuit. Sediment filters are produced from fine melted polypropylene, which is then blown and spun into a sort of cylindrical form. The primary operation of a sediment filter is to remove large, unwanted fine particles from drinking water, such as sand, dirt, silt, and rust particles. Removal of such particles allows Carbon Block and GAC filters to work normally and performance much better. Lifetime: Replace two or three times a year depending on water quality. Activated Carbon Block Filter Carbon Block filters are similar in performance to that of GAC filters in that both are made of fine coconut shell carbon.
