Las Perlitas translates to “Little Pearls,” an ode to the small, high-quality lots produced by individual smallholders across Huila, Colombia that are often too limited in volume to be exported on their own. While these microlots are frequently excluded for logistical reasons, their cup quality regularly rivals — and sometimes exceeds — that of much larger single-producer offerings. Las Perlitas is composed primarily of Pink Bourbon, with smaller contributions from Caturra and occasional Geisha. We’re excited to carry Las Perlitas again this season, a coffee we’ve come to rely on for both quality and consistency year over year. We find this season’s iteration to be a bit more winey than in the past, balanced by the caramelized sweetness of baked peaches.
