About the bean This spare and sweet Excelso is sourced from Popayán in one of Colombia's central coffee-producing micro-regions. The small city of Popayán is well known for its striking chalk-white colonial buildings (hence its nickname La Ciudad Blanca - 'the White City'). Among its discovery of treasures are a number of excellent coffee shops offering brew methods not found in the rest of the country. Typically, Colombian coffee is slightly nutty in taste (hazelnut), sharply aromatic, buzzy and rounded off with a rich body. Several farms contributed to our current crop of Colombian Excelso. Expect a very clean cup, flexible across the roast spectrum. A sweet morning brew.
