Using the Descafecol method, this Decaf French Caramel is decaffeinated with a solvent-based process that extracts caffeine from the coffee beans using ethyl acetate - a natural ingredient distilled from sugar cane, blackberries, beets, or occasionally grapes. The coffee beans are steamed to open their pores and then repeatedly rinsed with ethyl acetate to eliminate caffeine.
