A french roast of sugarcane decaf, this coffee brings a creamy body and a fairly distinct milk chocolate flavor to the cup. Easily, our best selling decaf option. Relatively new on the decaf scene, Sugarcane Processed decaf takes advantage of the sugarcane farms in Mexico to provide the Ethyl Acetate produced in the fermentation of sugar cane to decaffeinate this coffee. To remove the caffeine, a lightly steamed green coffee bean is washed in the alcohol Ethyl Acetate, which bonds chemically with caffeine, and is then steamed a second time to cook off the alcohol and remove the caffeine. Overall it is a more mild process than some other decaffeination methods, and helps the coffee retain much of its original flavor while still removing up to 98% of the caffeine. Sometimes called “Natural Decaf” or “E.A. Decaf”
