Producer: Alirio Muñoz Ortega Origin: Bruselas, Huila, Colombia Tasting Notes: Raspberry Jam, Apricot, Tangerine, Honeysuckle Varietals: Pink Bourbon Process: Washed 12 oz Whole Bean Coffee We've been lucky enough to offer coffee from Alirio Muñoz Ortega in the past. It's thrilling to be able to offer this pink bourbon lot for the third time. This coffee is gorgeously sweet and floral with some citrus and vanilla notes. Alirio Muñoz Ortega and his wife Anayibe Ortiz both come from coffee producing families. Across their fincas over 14 hectares, they grow more adventurous varietals such as pink bourbon, aji bourbon and sidra. They are members of the group Los Guacharos, a group of friends and neighbors near Bruselas, Huila collectively working to transition away from synthetic chemical inputs in their farming, and towards a more active, biodynamic form of agriculture. The members of the Los Guacharos group also work together to commercialize their coffee collectively, and the group has a strong sense of solidarity.
