This is Hario's version of the immersion method which leads to characteristics found in coffee made by a french press or siphon and gives the coffee its deep aroma, while coffee made with the pour-over method tends to be somewhat lighter and cleaner. However, depending on the recipe and the paper filters used, the Switch can brew very clean and light coffee, too. This brewer allows for repeatability in coffee making. Every single time we can expect a very similar result, which makes it a great solution for comparing different coffee beans. The infusion process should take around 2 minutes.
